The history

Oranges are certainly the most symbolically charged of all exotic fruits.
From its start in China to the legend of the Hesperides, this golden fruit has an incredible history. From East to West, it was first given as a present to the chinese emperor in the 7th century, and lived ever since a royal life from the famous 'orangerie' of Marie de Medicis through the embassy of Christopher Colombus and Vasco da Gama, and the royal extravaganza of Louis the 14th, who considered the orange as the sun.
Originally known for its curative effects and being used in perfumery afterwards, it is only much later that the delicacy of its flesh had been discovered.
The orange finds its origins in the Oriental Asian mountains, near the Hymalayan, and has crossed the continents to finally reach Europe. The orange has become one of the most appreciated fruits of the world.

Nutritional

The orange holds 47 KC for a 100 gr of juice, less than a lemon which has 80 gr. An average orange has 50 mg of vitamine C for 100 grammes of fruit. Children are right to love oranges! Eating one orange a day gives 4/5 of our daily needs of vitamine C. It also contains a lot of vitamine A, carotene, B1, B2 and B6 vitamines.
The amount of calcium and potassium is known to protect the cardiac muscle. Also, the orange is particularly indicated in salt free diets because of its low content in sodium.
Unlike what is generally accepted, it is not recommended to drink an orange juice on an empty stomach. Start with cereals, bread, coffee or tea and drink the orange juice only at the end. The fast assimilated sugar of the orange is better drunk after the slow assimilated sugar of bread and cereals. And, if you do not want to have a sleepless night...avoid drinking or eating an orange before going to bed.

The 'Navelinas' arrive in the early days of November, and the 'Lane Late' in December.
In March the first 'Navel Late' arise, then the season finally ends with the 'Valencia Late' in May.

AÏDA, the best orange in the world

AÏDA's oranges are 'mountain oranges'. The production sites are situated 200 meter above the sea level and benefit of a micro-climate.
Oranges in the flat open country are suffering of freezing fog. Above 50 meters of altitude this freezing fog disappears and the trees are better exposed to the sun.

They therefore get a higher temperature during the day which makes them more juicy , smooth and containing more sugar. A frozen orange on the other side, looks more pale and tastes bitter.

AÏDA's production is only made with mountain oranges ensuring this unique taste and the very best quality.
They only commercialize the best of the production.
